BRANDING PORTRAIT SESSION SHOT ALL ON FILM | JULIA LORRAINE
Branding session for the inimitable Julia Lorraine! Julia signed up for my first all film package: a roll of 35mm photos and a roll of super 8 video—I didn’t even bring a digital camera. Julia is a fellow San Francisco based photographer whose work centers around motherhood: she shoots births, newborns, and families, and has experience as a doula. She’s working on a course to teach new mothers and doulas how to take better photos of their babies and families, and wanted imagery to go with it. So we decided to bring her daughter, Nova, to work with us—to capture Julia and her daughter together, to show their life together, and to show her values around motherhood.
We met at Land’s End in San Francisco and explored around, eventually taking the trail down to Sutro Baths and the beach. Nova brought her camera, Julia brought hers, we all took photos of each other.
